The road to loving yourself, starts with accepting yourself.

The road to loving yourself, starts with accepting yourself.

And frankly it's not always an easy road. In a world that tells us we should be...thin young smooth fit sexy perky happy funny agreeable and so much much more.

I can tell you that Lindsay is on that journey. She’s been on this journey since she was about 8 years old, when some kid in grade school planted a seed about not being enough. And although it is awful that things started so young and that way I can not say it’s unique. It’s not original, it’s a story I hear often.

The practice of loving yourself is just that, a practice. It does not happen overnight. It will take patience and growth. It will change with seasons and experiences. Start with accepting yourself as you are now. Tell yourself “I am ok” and let go of the negative words you may associate with your body. Instead be neutral “ I have a body, I have arms and legs and a tummy”. Start neutral and focus on facts (not mind lies). Embrace your body, focus on the parts and as you bring yourself to neutrality you will make room for acceptance. After finding acceptance you can create love for your body. You can embrace yourself and your flaws and see them the journey that has created you.

Practicing the acceptance of yourself as is, is a rebellion.
